Jan originally planned to not race any last weekend, but made the last minute decision to pilot one of the team's Open Wheel Modifieds at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas on Saturday night. The night started well as Jan jumped to the early lead in his heat race, but disaster would soon strike as the carburetor began malfunctioning forcing him pitside. As a result he started at the back of the feature grid, and with carburetor problems still giving him issues, he made one lap before retiring for the night.
Race fans also be on the lookout for a redesigned web site for Jan Howard in the next few weeks at www.HowardRacing.net .
